The best practice from our experience is having the Safer Schools Sergeant on hand for advice and guidance. Our Safer Schools Sergeant has been invaluable to us on numerous occasions from instances of potential sexual assault to use of drugs. We are able to email a scenario to her and know exactly what the next steps are and when we are dealing with quite grey areas she is able to give us several pieces of advice to inform next steps. This is also very helpful when liaising with parents of young people.
