Diversion of a disruptive pupil in Kingston

Appealing to a young persons interests

There was a disruptive pupil and the school were concerned about ASB outside of school and the lack of respect the pupil had.

As a Safer Schools Officer, I arranged to attend the school and chat with this pupil about their actions and behaviour in and out of school and the consequences if they carried on. The pupil appeared to struggle with the work at school and when asked about what they enjoyed they said sports and in particular football.

I arranged for this pupil to attend a premier league football Kicks project which they continue to attend to this day on a weekly basis, the pupil now attends another school where his learning needs are met and they continue to attend there everyday and police have had no further involvement or issues with this pupil.
